The Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management provides learners with a practical approach to PAS. This qualification route is ideal for those learners who are already working in a retrofit Capacity and are qualified in site/building project management but require specific qualifications. Learners who complete the Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management will obtain the skills and knowledge to meet the PAS 2035 standard and requirement for domestic retrofit

Requirements

  • Learner must have one of the following, Hold a Level 4 or above qualification in a building -related subject such as architecture, surveying engineering or construction site management or hold a Nation Vocational Qualification(NVQ) at Level 3 or above and have minimum of 5 years of experience in a subject related to the management or supervision of construction and domestic construction projects

Description

Once qualified, learners will be able to coordinate end-to-end projects from inception to handover and continue evaluation.

  • Module 3 - Retrofit Quality Assurance and Risk Management
  • Module 4 - Building Physic - Thermal Efficiency
  • Module 5 - Building Physic - Thermal Efficiency
  • Module 6 - Improving the Building Fabric - Floors and Roofs
  • Module 7 - Improving the Building Fabric - Walls and Windows
  • Module 8 - Improving the Building Services - Heating, Hot Water, Lighting and Power
  • Module 9 - Improving the Building Services - Renewable Energy Systems
  • Module 10 - Improving Airtightness and Ventilation
  • Module 11 - Improvement Option Evaluation and Medium-term Retrofit Plans
  • Module 12 - Post Retrofit Testing , Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Module 13 - Understand the requirements for lodgement of measures to TrustMark

How is the course assessed?

Course assessment covers the areas you need to be competent in to successfully carry out Retrofit Coordination and is focused on the practical role of the coordinator understanding the requirements of PAS and authentic assessment activity. This is assessed through a combination:

  • Knowledge-based tests
  • Professional discussions
  • An externally set and internally marked scenario case study

All learners must achieve 18 credits from the 13 mandatory components.
